Because of my writing aspirations, this spot used to hold a formal bio. Its still below if you care. But I’m not feeling all that formal lately so wanted to replace that bio with something a little more me, right now, here.
The bottomline about me is that I just love Jesus and love to serve him. And I love my family and friends and would do anything for them. Those three in that order, are me, top to bottom, side to side. All things in me flow from those three things. I have a lot of other joys, loves, passions, such as the ocean, international travel, fine wine. But at the end of the day, I enjoy those things the most, b/c I meet God there (yes, even at beautiful vinyards). God speaks to me loud when I’m near water and out of the country. Maybe that’s because in those places he seems to get me still enough to listen. And both the beach and traveling are all the more a blessing to experience with friends or family you love dearly. Its all about good memories and I’m so fortunate to have so many.
But that though alone, would not allow this blog to make as much sense. The last many years have been very hard for many reasons. Wrought with joy and blessings, but still hard, dealing with losses of friends, either to Jesus or moving away, struggles in jobs, some of my own health issues, loneliness, frustration and confusion with God. But isn’t that what makes faith real? Faith is only real if its tested. And oh, its been tested.
Just over a year ago God put a book title in my head “Finding Contentment in a Life You Didn’t Choose”. Its all about trusting God, living by faith, even dealing with anger at God if necessary, to find the peace and contentment he so promises admidst all our storms. This blog is snippits of what he’s teaching me about living by faith. He teaches me so much each day, and for that, I’m so thankful. And I love to share it, I love to teach others through it. So here I am… his humble servant passing the word on.
